Welcome to TJFord Art Studio, where creativity flows as vividly as the paint on Tammy Ford's canvas. Tammy, a former hair and nail artist with a 20-year career in Eau Claire, made a life-altering decision in December 2017 when she traded her salon tools for paintbrushes and embarked on a journey to fulfill her lifelong dream of being a full-time artist.
Tammy's artistic journey is deeply rooted in a lifelong passion for creativity. Her formal training began in 4-H and extended through high school, followed by college courses in visual arts and theatre. This foundation paved the way for her return to the arts after two decades in cosmetology, setting ambitious goals that saw her complete an impressive 108 pieces of artwork between May 2018 and January 2019. A significant milestone in her career was participating in an online challenge by Cinnamon Cooney, "The Art Sherpa," where Tammy earned the title "Art Eagle" and was named the 2nd runner-up out of 131 artists worldwide in the juried portion of the challenge.
Tammy's involvement with the Valley Art Association opened further opportunities to showcase her work, including exhibitions at The Heyde Center for the Arts in Chippewa Falls and Vino Cappuccino in Elk Mound. She also participated in The Yellowstone Art Trail, enjoyed a solo show at The Mabel Tainter in Menomonie, and recently took part in the 20th Annual Mabel Tainter Fine Art and Craft Fair.
Tammy's work is currently available at Artisan Forge Studios and Gallery in Eau Claire. She has also established a small studio and gallery space in Elk Mound, where she offers classes and displays her work without the domestic constraints of past years. Her studio also serves as a creative hub where she continues to explore and teach art, free from the clutter of her home studio setup.
Inspired daily by nature, particularly water, and influenced by the impressionist, baroque, and romantic periods, Tammy employs bold and exciting color choices primarily in acrylics. Her versatility shines through as she enjoys mixing mediums, including watercolor, graphite, colored pencil, neo pastels, ink, and collage. Each piece she creates is a reflection of her spirituality, the depth of human emotion, and the beauty of life's fleeting moments.
Tammy Ford of TJFord Art Studio hopes that her artwork will not only touch but also inspire others, serving as a vivid testament to the transformative power of embracing one's passions and the beauty that can unfold when one follows their artistic calling.
