With a background as a costume designer and manager in St. Jo, Katelyn infuses her creative flair into her work at the shop. Her expertise spans palm and rune readings, candle carving and dressing, and a rich knowledge of history and herbalism. At home, she dotes on her fur baby, Freya, and indulges in her passion for books.

Co-founder Kat Tracy, a Gemini who has called Alexandria home for fifteen years, complements Katelyn’s skills with her own metaphysical practices. With three years of experience, Kat’s expertise includes tarot reading, crystals, astrology, and crafting spell jars. When she's not at The Broom Closet, she works as a nail tech and facialist, bringing beauty and relaxation to her clients at Ella's Salon.

The Broom Closet was born from a shared vision during the pandemic of 2020, a period that sparked many to reassess their paths in life. Katelyn and Kat were no different, each finding renewed interest in the old traditions and philosophies that offer an active role in personal and spiritual management. Their journey together began one stormy night, baking cupcakes and watching movies, which led to a transformative moment that deepened their bond and commitment to their practice.
